Lower Back Pain | Types, Causes, Treatment Options & More

This is a kind of pain that occurs in the lower back of humans. In scientific terms, it is also known as ‘Lumbago’. This is a very common type of pain that can happen to anybody. Types of Lower Back Pain

The lower back pain is of various types. The classification is done generally based on the duration of the pain.

➥ Acute lower back pain

This a short-term pain that lasts for a small period. This type of back pain generally lasts for less than 12 weeks.

Chronic lower back pain

This is severe pain which lasts for a long period can it takes a long process to cure this pain. In this type of back pain, it lasts for more than 12 weeks.

Non-specific

Under the nonspecific type of Lower back pain, the reason for the pain is not determined. There can any reason due to which there is a pain in the lower back.

Specific

Under the specific type of lower back pain, the reason is clear due to which you are suffering from lower back pain. These reasons can be Infection, cancer, fracture Etc.

Exercises for lower back pain :

We have seen above that exercise is very beneficial for lower back pain. So, let us take a look at the different exercises available for relieving the back pain.

If you are starting the exercise for the first time then do not start with hard exercise. First, start with normal stretches. While doing the exercises make sure you do not put pressure on yourself. Make sure to constantly breathe while performing the exercise.

1. Hamstrings

For starting this exercise, lay on the floor. This exercise is done with legs. Pull your right thigh towards your chest and make a 90-degree angle. Pull for 1 minute and make sure you feel a little stretch in the backside of your thigh. Now do the same with the other leg.

2. Prop up elbows

This exercise is done with the help of elbows. First, lay down on the floor by facing towards the floor and lay with the help of elbows. Hold this position for 1 minute. And repeat the same exercise for 3-5 times.

3. Single knee to chest

In this exercise, you need to lay down on the floor and pull your knee to the chest and hold it for 30 seconds. Repeat the same exercise for 5-7 times.

4. Hip flexors

For doing this exercise lay on the side of a bed with half body on the bed and the legs towards the floor. Now pull your knee with the help of your hands. Hold this position for 30 seconds and repeat the same with another leg. Do this exercise for 3-5 times.

5. Pelvic tilt

This is a very simple exercise, you need to just lay down, your stomach should be flat and now pull your legs towards your hips. Remain in this position for at least 30 seconds. Repeat this exercise 10 times.

6. Tail wag

For doing this position sits with the help of your hands and legs. And then move your face towards your hips. Remain in this position for 20 seconds and repeat the same for 5-7 times. Do the same to the other side also.

7. Cat and camel

In this exercise, you need to sit like in the previous exercise, but the difference is you need to face down and make your hips up. Then after some time change this position to your face up and hips down. Repeat this for at least 10 times.

8. Lumber rotation

Simply lay down on the floor and pull your legs towards your hips and put your hands behind your head. Now start moving your body on both the left and right side but keep your hands and legs in the same position.
